Pawse is a Chrome extension that helps you stay away from distracting websites. We try to collect as little as possible. This page explains what is stored, where, and why.

What stays in your browser

Your block list, settings and usage statistics are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. They are never sent to our server. Uninstalling the extension removes them.

What our server stores (only if you buy Pro)

  • Install ID: a random identifier created by the extension. It is not linked to your name or Google account.
  • License key: the key that unlocks Pro and lets you restore it on other devices.
  • Plan and status: which plan you bought, whether it is active and when it renews.
  • Stripe identifiers: the IDs of your Stripe customer, subscription and checkout session, so we can match payments to your license.
  • Email address: only if Stripe provides it with your purchase (Stripe asks for it to send your receipt).

We use this data only to provide and verify your Pro license and to handle billing questions. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or track the websites you visit.

Uninstall survey (optional)

When you remove Pawse, Chrome opens a short "why did you leave?" page. Answering is optional. If you do, we store the reason you picked, any text you choose to add, the extension's install ID and its version number, so we can learn what to improve. The page sets no cookies and uses no tracking. Please don't put personal information in the text box.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our server. See the Stripe privacy policy.

Hosting and storage

This website is hosted on Vercel and license and survey data is stored in a Supabase database. These providers process data on our behalf.

Retention and your rights

License data is kept as long as your license exists and as required for tax and accounting purposes. Survey answers are kept until we no longer need them to improve Pawse. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time; note that deleting it will deactivate your license.
